Alcohol
Alcohol
History
In early 3rd Century BC, China figured out how to refine food like vinegar and soy sauce using fermentation and distillation, which would later turn into the alcoholic spirits-making process we'd know today. The Chinese can be thanked for creating such things as ethanol and isopropyl alcohol, or beer, wine and liqour. But, recent archaeological discoveries have pushed the date back much, much further. In Henan, nine thousand year old pottery was found with traces of alcohol in it. This beats the ancient Arabs discovery of alcohol by 1,000 years.
How it Shaped Culture of Ancient China
After the invention of alcohol, a lot would have changed in the slave community, as the process would not be performed by the upper-class. Speaking of which, the upper-class would of had higher demand for this alcohol, which would spike up the economy of Ancient China quite a lot. This invention would also shape the rest of the world with the same problems and boosts.

The Mechanical Clock
Mechanical Clock
The world's first clock was invented by Yi Xing (618-907), a Buddhist monk and mathematician. The mechanism was configured so that continuous water driplets would turn a wheel one full revoloution every 24 hours. As time continued, these machines were made with an iron and bronze system of hooks, pins, locks and rods, but still followed the original design. Many years later, Su Song (960-1279), a astronomer and mechanist, created the more modern clock design we know today.

Hang Gliders
Hang Gliders
History
In 4th Century Bc, the kite was invented, which over many interperatations, these kites were able to carry a grown man (late 6th Century AD). Finally, somebody tested what would happen if you removed the strings. However, these hang gliders weren't used for pleasure but for torture. For example, Emperors would find joy in forcing convicts to jump of cliffs strapped to these hang gliders (one man going for 2 miles before land safely). With these early flights, China had beaten Europe by 1335 years.
